The Perfect Sacrifice

Jesus Christ was that perfect “freewill offering” and “peace offering” that was offered without any “blemish therein.” He accomplished his vow to the Father to finish his Father’s will. He was proved time and time again and was found to be good, perfect, and acceptable in the will of God the Father.

The responsibility of any Christian, according to Romans 12:1-2, is to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to the will of God. This is our vow, and it must be offered through a spirit of freewill and peace. How? By the “renewing of your mind” so that we might “prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” (1 Thess. 5:21) That which is good, is also that which is “perfect” and that which is perfect is that which is “acceptable.”

God doesn’t ask for anything “superfluous” (Lev. 22:23). He simply asks that we do what is our “reasonable service” in connection to what he has already done for us. The key to doing the will of God, is keeping the mind renewed and keep proving all things pertaining to the will of God, whether they be good, acceptable, and perfect in the sight of God. If it’s good, it’s acceptable; and if it’s acceptable it’s perfect.
