The LORD Fights For You
Joshua 10:42 - The LORD Fights For You
The Christian is likened unto a soldier engaged in a spiritual battle/warfare. We are called to “fight” as Paul said he “fought a good fight.” This doesn’t mean that we each fight against our own enemies unique only to each individual, but rather, the battles we are called to fight and the enemies against which we fight are chosen of the LORD and are a “common” enemy to every Christian (the world, the flesh, and the devil).
Therefore, these three are God’s enemies and we his soldiers. Now, the location of each battle may be unique, and the tactics or the moves of the enemy may be specific to you, but every Christian fights the same three enemies.
It is on this we can be confident that we are on the winning side. No weapon that is forged against us shall prosper. Therefore, as Joshua said in verse 25, “Fear not, and be not dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for this (see verse 24) shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.”
