Be Purposed
Daniel (and the 3 other Hebrew children - verse 17) is a great example of how a child of God should stand fast and remain faithful to the Lord and his word even while living within a pagan world system that changes the curriculum, the character, the culture, and the “climate” in which we live.
Daniel “purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself,” and if we are going to make it to the end of our race being found faithful; it will require that we purpose in our heart not to be defiled by the god of this world’s leaders or by the ministers of false science, false teaching, and false doctrine.
Daniel and his friends were proved “ten days” and in the end they were “ten times” better than all the best the world’s system had to offer.
As Christians, we are commanded in 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 to, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” while “Abstaining from all appearance of evil.” The end result of proving, holding, and abstaining will be ten times better at the judgment seat of Christ than compromising, capitulating, and condoning evil.
Have a purpose, be purposed, and stay purposed!!
