grace in the wilderness

Thank the LORD for his grace!! After the sword of defeat comes the wilderness of despair, despondency, and depression. Many of God’s children have been found wandering the wilderness in desperation looking for help and relief.

Since God is always “at hand”, we don’t have to look very far for his grace, but we do have to accept it and rely upon it for strength to get us out. When we do find and receive the grace of God, he brings us to a place of “rest.”

Jeremiah 31:25-26 speaks of this process and promise, “For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished the sorrowful soul. Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.”
