Dangerous Instructions
Not all instruction comes from the word of God, the Spirit of God, or the man of God. Here in Proverbs 19:27, the warning is to “cease” from “instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.” And in Proverbs 16:22, the warning is that “the instruction of fools is folly.”
Be mindful of “seducing spirits and doctrines of devils” that give instruction. The wrong instruction from the wrong source, the wrong spirit, or the wrong servant will produce foolish doctrines that will cause some to “err” and “depart from the faith.”
God only gave one source for infallible, inerrant, inspired instruction, the AV1611 King James Bible. And he gave you his Spirit to teach you the instructions for sound doctrine and spiritual discernment. And he gave servants after his own heart, who are to rightly divide the word of truth and preach it and teach it with conviction and without compromise or confusion.
Why so dogmatic and why the warning? Because the counsel and instruction of the LORD is meant to keep you safe and sound! “Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” (Proverbs 19:20-21)
