Seeing Out Of Obscurity
Praise the Lord for opening the eyes and ears of those who seek, with sincere hearts, the “words of the book.” God’s word will provide you with the right kind of “wisdom,”prudence,“counsel,”“works,”and understanding (verses 14-15). Understanding the words of God keeps things (thinking, truth, doctrine, love) right side up rather than “upside down” (verse 15). Understanding brings “joy” to the meek in spirit and rejoicing to the “poor” in spirit (verse 19).
While those who are insincere, the Lord will close their eyes and cause a “deep sleep” to come upon them, so that they can not understand “the words” of this book “that is sealed” unto them (verses 10-12). Those same words will cause wise men to become fools, and confident men become “offended” at just “A WORD.” They will reject the words of God and embrace the words of man.
With the LORD we will not be ashamed nor will we be afraid of what man might think or say or do concerning what is right and true. Sanctify in your heart the “Holy One of Jacob…fear the God of Israel” and his words.
