Thou Art My God
“Thou Art My God” - Isaiah 25:1
What a bold and confident statement that the prophet Isaiah made over 700 years before any child of God could make that same statement more boldly and more confidently by faith in the words of God. The child of God can claim this promise as faithful and true by the gospel of Jesus Christ and the doctrine of eternal security because we have the indwelling of the Spirit, “which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27). Which before (i.e., Isaiah) was a mystery, but now is made known to the sons of God, by the words of God, given by inspiration of God, to the man of God, namely Paul, our Apostle.
For those two doctrines alone, the child of God has so much to “exalt” and “praise” the name of Jesus for. All the praise goes to Jesus, who is God our Savior, our hope (1Tim. 1:1). He deserves all glory and honor forevermore. For he has done “wonderful things” in his “faithfulness and truth,” so that, we can stand firm and assured and “confident of this very thing….According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.” (Philippians 1:6,20)
