Walk in the Light
Although this passage is doctrinally aimed at an invitation for Israel (“Jacob”) to walk in the light of the LORD during the millennium (verses 1-4), the child of God can spiritually apply this verse to themselves (Romans 2:28-29).
When we come to the “word of the LORD” in humility and submission, his Spirit through his words can “teach us of his ways.” (verse 3). When we are taught the ways of the LORD, we “will walk in his paths,” which is where “the light of the LORD” dwells for guidance and fellowship.
When we walk in his words, his ways, and his paths, our spirit will know peace rather than conflict. When our spirit is at peace, we are at peace with God and with one another rather than in a state of war, confusion, wrath, malice, anger, and vengeance. Walking in the light (peace) rather than darkness (war) should be our hearts desire today.
